Meet the Team at FĀC Aesthetics
Christy Hennigan
RN, BSN, CANS
Owner, Founder
Aesthetic Nurse Specialist
Raised on a cotton farm in West Texas, Christy was taught at a young age that if you want to achieve success in life it requires a lot of discipline and hard work. That grit-filled attitude has been the cornerstone of Christy’s work ethic and has allowed her to overcome many of life’s challenges along the way. Upon graduating from Texas Tech University, Christy held a variety of corporate and non-profit positions and learned the importance of customer service and adding value to client relationships. In the years that followed she married her husband and started a family. She experienced the highs and lows and all that accompanies raising three daughters, particularly with her oldest. After her daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, she poured herself into learning and researching everything there was to know about autism spectrum disorders. This experience provided the initial spark and interest for her to pursue a career in healthcare and the opportunity to help others, especially children. So with three young kids under the age of nine, she completed a one-year accelerated second degree BSN program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, graduating with top honors.
The experience she gained as a young mom created a natural fit to what would become her first nursing specialty, pediatrics. As a pediatric nurse, she gained invaluable experience helping children and families navigate illness, in some cases terminal. It forged her ability to care for each patient in a special way. Long night and day shifts and the countless hours at a hospital provided foundational skills that are invaluable to this day. Managing the challenges of raising a young family, she felt the need for a change. As a fitness enthusiast and someone dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and aesthetic care, Christy found herself drawn to the exciting world of medical aesthetics. Helping people look and feel their best is her gift and passion and always accompanies her treatment philosophy.
When Christy isn't treating patients and running the business, she enjoys hot yoga, snow skiing, hiking, the outdoors and chooses the mountains over the beach every time!
Rachel Smith
RN, BSN
Aesthetic Nurse
Rachel Smith was born and raised in Argyle, Texas. Growing up alongside her twin sister and younger brother, Rachel’s journey into nursing was inspired by her mother, a dedicated Registered Nurse, and fueled by her parents’ example to always help friends, family, or strangers in need. This passion of care grew stronger when her grandfather was diagnosed with early-onset dementia. While still in high school, Rachel wanted to contribute meaningfully to serving others and became a nurse aide. This provided the opportunity to work at a nursing home and help care for her grandfather.
While at Texas Tech University, Rachel continued to work as a nurse aide in a hospital resource pool, gaining invaluable experience across multiple units while searching for her niche in nursing. After graduating with honors from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Rachel ultimately found her calling in the fast-paced emergency department of UT Southwestern Medical Center.
She gained invaluable experience working night shifts in the emergency room and through the COVID-19 pandemic. Her resilience and natural positivity made a lasting impact on the patients she treated.
Rachel then joined the plastic and reconstructive surgery unit at UTSW and her passion for aesthetics was ignited. She quickly mastered many of the critical skills required of an aesthetics nurse and was hand selected to join the private practice of Dr. Derderian Plastic Surgery in Dallas, TX where she successfully worked until she had her first child in June 2024.
They say all roads lead back home. It was Rachel’s goal and desire to stay in the field of aesthetics and be more available to their new son, Calvin, while living in Argyle. The stars aligned for Rachel as FĀC Aesthetics was seeking an experienced nurse injector and she quickly found her new home. You are in amazing hands with Rachel, and she looks forward to meeting you!
